The Pete Kilpatrick Band: Winning Big at the Portland Music Awards

The Portland Phoenix has tallied up the votes and announced the winners on June 3rd at the 10th Annual Portland Music Awards. Singer/songwriter Pete Kilpatrick was given the award of Best Male Vocalist during the show. The band was also awarded the title of Best Local Act. During the show at the Asylum in Portland, The Pete Kilpatrick Band also performed a brief set. Congratulations not only to Pete and the band, but to all the other winners and nominees!

The Pete Kilpatrick Band: Izstyle Winter Tour

The Pete Kilpatrick Band will soon be embarking as part of the IZStyle Winter Tour. The tour will bring the band through many well-known ski resorts from the northeast all the way to Utah. The Pete Kilpatrick Band will be performing at every stop on the tour, and at certain dates will be performing with such bands as Eve 6, Tea Leaf Green, and The Wailers.

Yet again, with Hope in Our Hearts, Kilpatrick has moved his songwriting forward, feeding off the talents of guitarist Zach Jones (As Fast As), bassist Matt Cosby (Jeremiah Freed), drummer Matt Lydon (Averi), and keyboardist Steve Morrell (he’s good, trust me) to make a record that’s still rooted in his nice-guy, John Mayer-esque apple-cheekedness, but with a bigger and more well-rounded sound.”

The album’s opening track, “Coming Home,” seems to be a perfect opener for conveying the hopeful theme of the record. It sets the tone of the album to follow, as well as delivering a flawless fall driving song.
